I just had a double mastectomy and looking for good teas to prevent cancer?

I just beat Triple Negative Breast Cancer! woohoo! I am 25 and was diagnosed at 24. Does anyone know any good teas that help prevent cancer? Maybe not prevent but help work to fight cancer? I have to start a whole new diet and need some good tips. I am looking into going to visit with a nutritionist but for now need some good tips. Thanks!

I really want to find some breast cancer awareness softball gear. Does anyone know a good place to find some?

I really hate the color pink, but I recently bought a Demarini cf4 Hope series for the sole purpose of showing support for the battle to find a cure for breast cancer. I would really like to find some pink cleats that might feature the ribbon.. My mom thinks I’m crazy but she supports me because I really want to show that I care about this cause. Any softball gear that supports breast cancer awareness I would like to look into getting.
I really want to support the pink movement. I bought a demarini cf4 hope series bat for the sole purpose of showing support. I hate pink but its for a good cause. The money I used to buy that bat was donated to finding a cure instead of going to demarini and I want to find more gear like that.

        Breast Cancer Awareness?

Hi Fellow Newborn & Baby go-ers!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. My buddies over in the NASCAR section have decided to all sport pink avatars (see my nice lil’ ribbon?? Thanx VP!) to support Breast Cancer Awareness. How about my fellow mommas and pappas joining in? :)

Hey guys – if you wanna add a pink ribbon or something pink to your avatar… VP TOM G (who so graciously helped me with mine) has offered to help you guys out. Shoot him an email (he’s in my contact list if you need a link to his profile) and he will help you. He’s awesome! :)

Now… For the Newborn & Baby question… How old was your lil’ one when he started calling one of his/her grandparents by a special name? My boy has just started calling my stepdad "Gada" and my mom "Gigi". It’s sooo cute! What about your lil’ one?

I posted something like this in the "parenting’ section too, so if you notice the repeat… that’s why! Just spreading the word!
        Oops – here’s Tom’s Link… http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt=AjudGhq769wQxevQWIwexNrsy6IX;_ylv=3?show=Qw4l9R68aa

        Sorry!

And please don’t try to spin this into a controversial subject regarding breastfeeding. Thanks.
I agree w/your point, Silly Girl. I just didn’t want a question that was supposed to bring awareness to an important subject to end up in a breastfeeding war. LOL

Where can I buy "Cancer" bracelets or something in support of Cancer?"?

I don’t mean the zodiac sign either. My mother-in-law died 3 weeks ago of liver cancer, my stepfather died today of lung cancer, and my aunt is currently fighting cancer of the lymph nodes I think and is expected to live thank God. I know that these cancers don’t get as much attention as breast cancer or leukemia, so I would like to find some bracelets or something to buy where the proceeds would go to finding a cure for that type of cancer. I want to support some lesser known cancer as well ( I am signing up for the breast cancer 3 day for October of next year so don’t think I don’t want to support breast cancer too).Hopefully I am making some sense. I appreciate your help.

Is there a doctor who will do breast reconstructive surgery on a cancer survivor for free?

I am wondering if there are any doctors who donate their time to helping people who are uninsured. I had breast cancer 17 years ago. A quarter of my right breast was removed and I chose not to have a silicone implant (risk factor). Due to age and weight gain, I am very lopsided and would like to have breast reconstructive surgery done using the fat from my tummy. I tried to have this procedure done back when I had insurance, but I ended up having a pacemaker put in and my surgeon wouldn’t do the surgery then. I have since lost my job and have no health insurance. Although this is not a life saving procedure I need, it is an emotional one that has torn up my self esteem real bad. Thanks!

              Why just BREAST CANCER awareness?

Almost 200,000 women (and men) are diagnosed with breast cancer annually, and about 45,000 die from it. However, last year 7.6 million people worldwide died from CANCER, period. So why is it that people are only making an effort to support breast cancer awareness alone and not all cancer in general? I’m not saying we shouldn’t care about people who have breast cancer, its affected people I’ve known too. But my mom died from pancreatic cancer 6 months ago and I just think that October should commemorate cancers of all types, not just breast cancer.
inverse mushroom: you raise a good point about my stats.

joseph: my mom was very healthy (or so we thought), she didn’t drink or ever smoke and went to the gym EVERYDAY.

Why is Breast Cancer Awareness so strong?

I understand it’s a leader in affecting women. I support breast cancer awareness, research, etc. I have bought items that had some proceeds go towards this. However, I do not understand why it is so much more prominent than other cancers or diseases.

As far as cancers go, it is my understanding that this is a leading cause of death? Or at least infections. But heart disease is still leading cause of death overall. And what about childhood cancers? Maybe it doesn’t affect as many, but they are only kids.

I am not trying to take away from what Breast Cancer Awareness organizations have done. I applaud them and all who support. But why does the post office only have a stamp for Breast Cancer and no other diseases. Why are the NFL, Campbell’s, and other big organizations supporting this so strongly and nothing else at all? I thank these companies for giving back to the community and all. I just hate to know other disease that we need to raise awareness for are forgotten.

It almost makes me want to take my money and time elsewhere for a cause. Not out of spite. But simply because SO Much is already being done for Breast Cancer that I feel my small individual contributions could go further in something else.

But again, please know I applaud all the efforts for BCA. I’m just trying to understand.

Where do I purchase the lovely shoe logo made up off pink lilies and leaves from FFCF-Breast Cancer Awareness?

The logo shoe is found on the QVC yearly Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Have they made the shoe logo in ceramic, plastic or in jewerly? I think it is just beautiful and would like to show my support and awareness. I’m also a cancer survivor – 20 years now!
