Is it wrong to wear teal to a Susan G. Comen breast cancer walk?

I do like to show my support, but I don’t feel like there is enough of an outpouring for other types of women’s cancers (teal for ovarian, teal & white for cervical, and peach for uterine) Is it frowned upon to support other women’s cancers at a breast cancer walk?

Where can I buy "Cancer" bracelets or something in support of Cancer?"?

I don’t mean the zodiac sign either. My mother-in-law died 3 weeks ago of liver cancer, my stepfather died today of lung cancer, and my aunt is currently fighting cancer of the lymph nodes I think and is expected to live thank God. I know that these cancers don’t get as much attention as breast cancer or leukemia, so I would like to find some bracelets or something to buy where the proceeds would go to finding a cure for that type of cancer. I want to support some lesser known cancer as well ( I am signing up for the breast cancer 3 day for October of next year so don’t think I don’t want to support breast cancer too).Hopefully I am making some sense. I appreciate your help.

      Why just BREAST CANCER awareness?

Almost 200,000 women (and men) are diagnosed with breast cancer annually, and about 45,000 die from it. However, last year 7.6 million people worldwide died from CANCER, period. So why is it that people are only making an effort to support breast cancer awareness alone and not all cancer in general? I’m not saying we shouldn’t care about people who have breast cancer, its affected people I’ve known too. But my mom died from pancreatic cancer 6 months ago and I just think that October should commemorate cancers of all types, not just breast cancer.
inverse mushroom: you raise a good point about my stats.

joseph: my mom was very healthy (or so we thought), she didn’t drink or ever smoke and went to the gym EVERYDAY.

          Breast cancer awareness?

How come I always see a lot of commercials, posters, advertisements and walks to support breast cancer. I rarely ever see those things for prostate or testicular cancer. For example, before the giants bears game last night they had a whole rally before the game to support breast cancer and the players were wearing pink gloves and chin-straps and helmets. On my cheerios cereal box there is a section on the side that supports breast cancer awareness, and then the other day I saw a whole commercial for breast cancer. It’s just that I never see anything for the other cancers.

Why am I mocked when I say I don't support the fight against breast cancer?

Breast cancer is the 5th biggest killer in WOMEN OVER THE AGE OF 50, and is gender biased.

Men, women, and children are affected by other cancers (i.e. skin) yet it gets no charity

less then 1% of men get breast cancer.
I support the fight against ALL cancer…but will not support gender biased cancer research.

For those of you mocking me, if I had said I dont’ support the fight for prostate cancer…you would not have such a hard time…its biased.

How come the news only refers to Lance Armstrong as a "Cancer Survivor", and not a "Testicle Cancer Survivor"?

Whenever you hear about female Athletes who had breast cancer, they are referred to as a BREAST Cancer Survivor. The same applies to other cancers in men and men. When it comes to the women they are a "…… Survivor" and not just a Cancer Survivor like men are referred to.
It should be noted that testicle cancer is the #1 form of cancer in males 15-35 years old, yet most high schools don’t teach the boys about it.

Why is support for breast cancer so common?

I know it’s a very common cancer, but very few men actually get it, mostly women. Why isn’t there much support for cancers such as colon cancer? Is there some sort of thing against men or what?
I don’t think you read my question Rachel…
I didn’t mean that only men get colon cancer, that is stupid. It’s just that you hear more about breast cancer. For example, everybody knows what the pink ribbon stands for. What color do they use for prostate cancer? Have you ever seen one? No.
This is going to be hard to pick a best answer lol
I have no idea who to pick for best answer so I’m putting it up for voting :/

Why do Americans have such bad diets?

A vegan diet and exercise can minimize the frequency of:

            -Obesity
            -High Blood Pressure
            -Heart Disease
            -Cancers

… and diet is far more effectively than any drug. Why do people who know the facts continue with their destructive life styles? Why is the media failing to educate Americans? Why are schools failing to educate Americans? What do you suggest?
